SEED Academy Campus
SEED Project (Sports for Education and Economic Development) is developing the next generation of African leaders through education and basketball. It introduces thousands of Senegalese youth to rigorous basketball, academic, and leadership programs utilizing after-school training, basketball camps, tutoring, scholarship placement, and academy programs designed to inspire, empower, and equip boys and girls with the skills needed to succeed.
The current Academy supports just 40 student-athlete residents training and studying to attend prep school and university in the US, Europe and Africa. The Academy is presently housed in a government sports training and youth development facility in Thies. The progressive mayor of Sandiara has secured a future site for the SEED Project to develop its own SEED Academy, and expand its boarding and academic program well beyond current limitations.
To kickstart the enormous fund raising effort, BumpZoid prepared a full campus plan complete with seven minute video fly-through to provide an inspirational vision for SEED Academy and its supporters. (We also took the opportunity to suggest broad town planning to better integrate educational, industrial, residential and environmental needs in this rapidly expanding area.) The new campus is centered on a shaded community court surrounded by classrooms, dormitories, conference facilities, faculty housing, training facilities and a full basketball arena.
