While this proposal ostensibly addresses inner block improvements near a new arts center, we opted to expand the discussion to include zoning and planning proposals. Introducing a new linear midblock park and new crossing midblock alley (each 1 chain x 10 chains) into the typical Salt Lake City megablock creates opportunities for new development, travel, and leisure at a more comfortable scale. We see the Chain Park and Half Street as a kind of small town Village Green and Main Street dropped into the current blocks creating micro neighborhoods strung chain by chain throughout the city.
