Menton Apartment
New York City
1985 / 1993
Seeking an increase both in space and character, our client bought the apartment adjacent to his and hired BumpZoid.
Gutting the anonymous quarters, we sought to restore a sense of time appropriate to the Village neighborhood. With vaulted, sloped and beamed ceiling, and cherry/oak woodwork, the new 'long room' is scholastic in feel, as appropriate to a lawyer/musician. It is also the focus of living and the principal organizing space, separating master and second bedroom wings. The custom tables designed as re-reflected ceiling plans mark key axial points.
